In fact, real sustainability is a tricky thing:
The term “sustainable” is just as unprotected as “ecological” or “fair”, for example.
And because these words are not defined strictly enough, they are used excessively in corporate communications and advertising.
Basically, sustainability means satisfying the needs of the present in such a way that the opportunities of future generations are not restricted. Many companies choose only one part of their business activity to which these rules apply and then report on it. For us at PERÚ PURO, sustainability means protecting the rainforest, growing cocoa and coffee in agroforestry systems, restoring destroyed areas and treating and paying all people along our value chain fairly and equitably. Everything we do is geared towards these goals!
