URUBAMBA FINO, organic highland coffee from PERÚ PURO

The godfather of our URUBAMBA FINO Coffee Whole Bean is the coati(Nasua nasua). It is part of the breathtaking wildlife of the mountain rainforest of Peru.

Our coffee bushes grow at over 1,800 m on the mountain slopes of the Urubamba Valley in species-rich mixed cultures that protect biodiversity and climate. For our single-origin highland espresso, we use only the rare, aromatic coffee variety Tipica, probably the oldest Arabica variety in the world.

PERÚ PURO sources this special organic green coffee directly from the smallholder families of the Chaco Huayanay cooperative.

The freshly harvested coffee is refined in a special process exclusively for PERÚ PURO. The green coffee is fermented on the pulp and then dried in the shade. This process takes over three weeks and guarantees the uniquely mild, low-acid and multi-faceted taste.

Our coffee is always freshly roasted in the traditional drum roaster in small batches by hand.

Packed in a high-quality aroma bag with labels made of Gmund paper in cooperation with the workshop for people with disabilities Nüdlingen. For each of our coffee and espresso specialties, Peruvian artist Willian Mamani Loayza from Cusco has drawn rainforest animals whose habitat we protect through our project.
